The new Thinking Mu store in Mallorca is built around a white, mineral and luminous atmosphere, connected to the Mediterranean context and to a way of understanding retail where matter, light and proportion organise the experience.
The intervention begins with a monochrome envelope in which walls, ceilings, furniture and display structures form a continuous landscape. Plaster, stone and iron define a serene and tactile interior architecture, designed to support the product through a clear, physical and restrained presence.
The space brings together two ways of understanding materiality through technique and craft. The projected plaster on walls and ceilings enhances gesture, robustness and controlled imperfections, while the delicate application on the floors introduces a finer, smoother surface shaped by the movement of the trowel. Both treatments establish a direct dialogue between density and refinement, roughness and precision.
The display modules work as an analogy of the original plaster blocks. Through simulated fractures and incisions made with iron sheets, each volume generates a sequence of planes, supports, recesses and voids for presenting different product typologies.
The texture of the plaster introduces a handmade, almost geological presence, while the white iron structures draw a lighter rhythm around the perimeter of the store. The result is a physical, clear and restrained interior, where Thinking Mu’s identity is expressed through construction, material honesty and a direct Mediterranean light.
