CREATIVE DIRECTION FAQ
Creative direction connects an understanding of a company with the decisions that build its identity and guide its communication. We bring an independent external perspective to assess its circumstances, examine existing decisions and open up new possibilities. We define priorities with the client and direct the process from diagnosis and strategic definition through to design, production and the brand’s evolution.
INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE / CREATIVE DIRECTION

What exactly is "Creative Direction"?

It is directing a brand’s language: what it says, how it looks, and how it behaves. We merge strategy
and design into a system that can be seamlessly applied, both by you and by any supplier.

What distinguishes your approach?

We combine direct knowledge of different sectors and international contexts with experience in seeing projects
through to completion. Our external position allows us to examine each situation with critical distance and
independent judgement. We apply this perspective to identify what distinguishes each client, guide opportunities
for development and build a coherent relationship between brand, content, products and spaces.

Can you work with our in-house team?

Yes. We provide external creative direction, with independent judgement and responsibilities defined with the client.
This position allows us to assess the project at a distance from internal dynamics, examine different approaches
and base decisions on the agreed objectives. We establish the project’s direction and coordinate its implementation
with the professionals involved, supported by clear roles and review processes.

What does your brand guidance translate into?

Into real continuity: clear decisions, rules, templates, and a review process.
The brand stops relying on "tastes" and starts relying on solid criteria.

Do you only work on design, or strategy too?

Both. Strategy defines the intention; design makes it usable. We build narrative, hierarchies, and tone,
and translate it into a system, key pieces, and a clear working method.

Can we work with you on Interior Architecture and Creative Direction in the same project?

Yes, this is the ideal scenario for Pensando en blanco. We merge both fields to build a single system,
creating a comprehensive project where the space and the brand speak the same language.
We design the identity of a brand, product, or project, while simultaneously planning its final retail or
exhibition space. This is the natural approach in projects we carry out for fashion brands (brand + store),
brands with retail products (identity + showroom/trade show stand), and hotels (space + identity).
A single criterion, a coherent narrative, and controlled execution in a final retail or exhibition space.

Can you help us internationalize the brand?

Yes. We prepare the brand to scale: message structure, visual consistency, adaptation by language/market,
and an editorial system that works across catalogs, web, PR, trade shows, and content.
Internationalizing is not translating: it is maintaining identity when the context changes.

Can you step in if the brand already exists?

Yes. We audit assets, detect frictions (inconsistencies, excess resources, lack of rules),
and rebuild the system so that it becomes coherent and operational again.

What deliverables does Creative Direction include?

1. It depends on the scope, but usually:
2. Brand core (principles, tone, messaging)
3. Visual system (typography, color, grid, image style)
4. Editorial system (text structure, headlines, captions, rhythm)
5. Key pieces (web / social media / campaigns / presentations / packaging, etc.)
6. Brand guidelines + templates for consistent production
7. Brand governance (review, quality control, and evolution)

Do you do Art Direction for photo/video (and all disciplines)?

Yes. Art Direction is cross-cutting: image, video, design, digital, editorial, spatial, and any piece
where the brand materializes. We define the scene, framing, rhythm, lighting, styling, casting (if applicable),
and a clear production guide so that every delivery upholds the system. Our strength is reflected in project
direction and decision-making across every medium—photography, video, animation, programming,
printing, and production. That is where the system is truly implemented, piece by piece.

¿What role does production direction play in the house?

Production gives material form to design decisions. The choice of paper, printing technique, binding or
finish determines how the result is perceived and how it performs. Production direction is therefore
part of our responsibility: we define specifications, select materials, review proofs and samples,
and oversee quality through to delivery. Our longstanding relationships with trusted suppliers provide
a shared understanding of the processes and standards of execution required. When client-appointed
suppliers are involved, we establish the technical criteria and review and approval stages
they must follow to deliver the project as specified.

What is your working process like?

1. Diagnosis (context, objectives, audience, assets, frictions)
2. Core (principles + tone + messaging)
3. System (visual/editorial rules)
4. Implementation (key pieces + templates)
5. Production and tracking (supplier direction, proofs, adjustments, quality control, and final finish)
6. Governance (review, quality, evolution)
