Multifunctional work area adaptable to the customer's needs.
The space is located on the ground floor of an apartment block at a privileged area in the heart of the Basque Country.
It is a work area that can be adapted to the different requirements of the project. Its distribution embodies the suggested program: a convertible and unexpected space created with three materials: American oak wood, black MDF and white MDF, leaving the panel's edges free of any finishing or application details.
The design of the area was conceived based on the project's epicentre, a main room that becomes the studio's linking point, limited at one side by a large window, a frame for an amazing landscape.
The tall height of the space 3.40 m, allowed the creation of an attic which formed a great volume whose materials and forcefulness make it that stand out from the rest of the space. This big unit's interior was designed to add to the space's functionality and versatility, hiding closets, libraries and an extendable cart holding a modular couch and a work desk. It is indeed a special piece due to its impressive presence and functionality: a 6m extendable cart which allows to transform the work area into a rest and leisure area, due to the modular couch inside.
Two large panels hiding the kitchen and the toilet, where small mesh shaped cavities give hints of its double function as panels and access doors.
The kitchen door has a special relevance in the project, due both to its weight as well as its function in the studio, separating an inner area which is completely integrated in the main space. The kitchen is peculiar, due to the combination of the black interior and the oak in the furniture. The great module designed in the fake ceiling, with several container modules is worth mentioning.
